    Thumbs up Re: Bbq Pellets

Woolies have them cheap enough. The easy lite ones are just that easy to light but a little more expensive so if you get them you can mix with a bag of ordinary ones to get the lot going more quickly. The trick is to lite it up and give it at least 20 minutes open to get going. A BBQ bead lighter / starter is a handy thing to get the beads going initially. Like a small chimney you light a fire lighter in the bottom (or easy lite beads) and the rest on top to get the lot burning well then tip them in the Kettle BBQ when they are all burning. Don't start cooking in it till the beans have stopped smoking and the are burning well.

    Troy,

I would suggest the Heat Beads brand, yes, there are cheaper ones on the market (ie: Readheads, Home Brand types).

I have tried all the brands and found that the Heat Bead ones seem to burn the longest and hottest and less smoke.

And as Darylive mentioned get yourself a heat bead lighter, think they are around $40 but well worth the money or make one.
