Just back from dockland, caught a few breams and got smashed by a snapper on a 3lbs line, managed to change to 6lbs line, finally landed a 4x cm snapper, that was fun !!
There are should be more snapper hanging around at the moment, some even bigger!
nice fish. I used to work at Port Melbourne down near where the Spirit of Tasmania comes in. Used watch a group of old guys on the piers catch some great fish. Never did any good myself. That was in 1998 probably not allowed to fish of the piers there anymore. From memory it was just across from a fish and chip joint called delish fish which I was told was owned by Rex Hunt. Had a few feeds there after failing to catch anything!!
