Thanks for the info but I'm not into club comps. Some good quality would not go astray, I wont be at Cabarita, I'll be elsewhere.
Hope you guys do well.

Always fish the Greenback. Monies always go to a good cause.
Not a club comp Bondy . Now the longest running surf fishing comp.
Looks like it may be tough this year for tailor but a bit more rain and its Jewie time.

The only real true beach fishing comp left for sure agree with u dave ,great to see money going to worthwhile causes. More rain will definately stir up the jew for sure the schoolies are in every gutter i fish down hastings area and huge sharks as well. Will be fishing every night till the comp finding the most consistent gutters fished last night 2 choppers and 2 schoolies kept 1 schoolie used tailor for bait but sharks hammered it. Here is a pic not a big fish but will be soon i hope its around 80cm close to 5kg . See how i go tonite pretty windy should stir things up Attachment 80708
No worries Da- Jew- Man,
As long as it goes to good causes then its all good.
I've also got special lure for jew so will be targetting them too.
Good luck with the Greenback comp.

Hey there 35kg Jew.
Did some recon down Patches and Broadwater yesterday and last night.
Great water, some good holes but tough fishing only scored a couple of bream and a flattie.
Very strange, so tough would of accepted a dreaded salmon for a bit of fun.
Will check out Wooyung to Newie next week.
Bring on the rain.
Good luck to all.
Hey Bondy whats's the special. Only kidding.

Nothing really special about the lure, dives to 2.5m (supposedly) probably a lot higher though
I've given Wooyung a miss, no 4WD and I wont be walking klms , been there done that and still had no result. Drove to Wooyung 7 days in a row from Brisbane last year.

Hi Jewie,

Im usually up at Tannum Hook Up but no Accommodation this year. The Gas miners on Curtis Island have taken over every burrow around. So yes I might give the Greenback a go for a change. Thanks for the reminder. Wher is Sign on, at. Loz.
Hi Loz,
Sign on is at Cabarita Beach.
Just kidding.
Opposite the Surf Club in Cabarita, in front of the Apartments (can't remember name).Sign on at 12 Sat and weigh in at 10am next day.
When coming into Caba turn left after the first roudabout and find a park and walk across. There will be plenty there.

hey guys Im not fishing the greenback comp, AGAIN as family time is more important, apparently! Anyways my tip for some big jewies would be Iluka Wall. I was down that way not long ago and there was plenty of action including some live bait options with the choppers. By now the larger grrenback should be in down that way and my guess is the biggest tailor and jew will come from south of Lennox???
I will be fishing the Greenback again I think it must be around number 15 for me great comp and if you are a beach specialist its a great chance to meet like minded people.
Conditions can be tough but when you win its always worth it and even if you dont its a great 2 days.
Greenback comp fisho's
Wont the rain place too much fresh along the beach and disperse the fish further offshore (Tailor that is).

You'd be surprised at the quality fish weighed in each year despite the conditions
