2012 rod building weekend
Stuart, once again, is kindly giving his time to educate those that are interested about rod building.
Dates: 7th and 8th July.
Times: 9am to 4pm both days
Location: Bribie Island
Lunch and nibblies provided both days.
Cost: $10 per person per day (to cover cost of food and drinks)
Limited to 15 people - first in best dressed.
BUT..if you get a spot and you cannot make it, please let us know as, in the past, there have been others waiting.
Stuart will provide a list of what is required for the newbies at rod building.
Send me a PM if interested.

Re: 2012 rod building weekend
I better consult the diary and get back I suppose.
Or do I just let someone else be the comic relief for Stuart and Greg. Or is that Greg and Stuart???
All jokes aside these week-ends are well worth the effort to go to if you are thinking about building your own rods.
Cheers Alfred.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Ok, first I will require two personnel assistance, must be blond, female and clothing is optional.
The list to bring.
I will bring a blank with binding already done and coated at various stages of coating.
Razor blades
Thread
Nail clippers for thread not manicurering Greg’s toes.
Brushes for coating
Epoxy coating if you want a rod done or at least started
Binding lath and coating lath, “I really need someone to bring a coating lath to show you guys.
Acetone or thinners
24hr Glue, in a largish pots
Masking tap
Grinder to grind the guide feet down and to do Greg’s toenails.
Stickers for your rods
Flaming tool for coating
One carton of crown larger for me, this is critical if you want the info and day to run smoothly.
Must leave space for me to throw two crab pots in and fish on the Greg’s pontoon, non-negotiable.
Must have fun
