Thread: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking

Have you guys got bungs in your "air chambers"? I don't on my Aussie build. Maybe i should add some?

That fuel pipe not sealed is crazy. That whole side would fill with water...

Don't worry about those bilge wires boys, it hasn't chafed in 6 years so far.

with the wires just a 1/4 drill hole through the vert support and cable tie it off. Photo is probably misleading but any unsecured wire will eventually either wear through or at the piont it keeps flexing will eventually fail - no bilge pump. With Auto ones people forget especially on moored boats that they are often wired direct to battery and when wires decay they put a stray current through the hull. Seen it a few times with mysterious paint failing and annodes dissolving and then one boat sinking.

I'm surprised you only have one bilge pump?

Don't get me started on airtight compartments

Terrible performance by Noble boats that this boat ever left the factory and their after sales is non existant.

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking

The boat has a "fully sealed" self draining deck with scuppers. The only way water gets into the bilge is thru the bung or inspection plates. It sometimes has a bit of water in there if waves break over the swim platform (they do while offshore with a chute out etc) and the inspection plate isn't sealing properly.

The auto switch has never worked since I have had the boat. I have checked the wires so it must be the switch.

Mate , sadly your just going to have to do it all yourself and get it into a good working order using qualified trades people, that's a fact, then worry about chasing this lot for some reperations. You will get no peace and no use out of it otherwise. Seems like there is nothing "noble" about this mob that's for sure. Wonder if Michael Guest has the same problems with them???? I don't think I would accept or endorse any product from Noble . Perhaps he needs to re-evaluate his relationship with them if this is any indication of how they operate.

Like many that endorse products, it comes down to money and how much your going to pay me to say its great.
Morals and endorsments should never be used in the same sentance.

    Trev,

If the funds are there I would repaint the boat after all of this and get rid of that massive advertisment on the side of the boat.
Just for the trouble you have gone through to fix a faulty product and with no help from the builder it's not worth running their add anymore.
If people ask it's a custom Plate boat , cause it's not a Noble anymore.

Those Facebook company sites are mostly run by independent marketing/media companies so just because there is activity it doesnt mean that Noble Int are active themselves.

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking

I have also posted on there in regards to this considering my boat is used in the advertising.

Yeah for sure Marty - the demographic reporting etc would be all part of the package. Very poor form by Noble regardless of who looks after their social media.

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking

I just had a real quick google around to see what I could find.
The parent company of Noble Boats International has no website now and the domain name has not been renewed and is expired.
Noble Boats and Noble Boats International has not renewed their Intellectual Property Rights over those names here in Australia and they have both expired and been withdrawn.
Good chance in the near future we may see a receivers notice on NBI.

Will save me a lot of persecution and retribution if you are right as I would get no satisfaction or benefit from kicking a corps.

I do hope the design finds it's way to a reputable builder again - Ben did design a great boat.
    Cheers

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking

This is the only info I could see from a quick search which outlines the receivership of Noble 1 & 2.
I will have a deeper dig around when I get some time to waste.

    Jayne Munday
Queensland boat manufacturer, Noble Boats International, claims it has been largely unaffected by the
appointment of receivers to one of its major shareholders and suppliers.
On July 7 Nick Combis and Peter Dinoris of Vincents Chartered Accountants were appointed receiver-
managers of Noble Boats and Noble Boats No. 2 due to unpaid debts to one of the directors of Tianjian
Noble Boats International, which trades as Noble Boats International.
Noble No. 2 holds a 25 percent stake in Tianjian Noble Boats International, which was formed in 2008
through the merger of Brisbane-based Noble Boats and Tianjian Asia Industries.
Noble No. 2’s sole director and shareholder is Benjamine Noble, son of Noble Boats founder Rob Noble
(pictured). Noble is also a director of Tianjian Noble Boats International, alongside Alec Spencer,
Shaoxun Liang and Robert Kwan Po Lee.
Founded in Clontarf in 1980 as Noble Engineering, a specialist stainless-steel fabrication business, Noble
Boats went on to become a highly successful manufacturer of stainless steel plate boats ranging in size
from 5 to 12.5 metres, counting the likes of the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service and the
    Australian Navy as customers.
Following the merger Noble Boats and Noble Boats No. 2 were contracted by Tianjian Noble Boats
International for pre-delivery vessel fit-out services, an arrangement which is now terminated.
Tianjian Noble Boats International is the international plate aluminium manufacturer and wholesaler of
    Noble Boats.
A specialist steel fabricator, Tianjian Asia Group is based in China’s Guangdong Province, and has
annual revenue of US$6 billion. In 2007, it launched its international arm, Tianjian Asia Industries,
    based in Hong Kong.
While Noble Boats and Noble Boats No. 2 are in the hands of receivers, Noble Boats International is
continuing to trade successfully from its Brisbane headquarters, according to Operations Manager Jason
    Lee.
He says the company has recently established an initial national distribution and sales network of
proven marine dealerships in each capital city.
    Page 2
“We are pleased to announce the recent appointment of Fleet Marine in Melbourne as our major dealer
for the greater Melbourne and Victorian areas,” Lee says.
“Recent dealership appointments include Enterprise Marine Sydney, Cunninghams Marine Brisbane and
    J&B Marine Ingham North Queensland.”
Noble Boats International will also be showcasing its boats at the Brisbane International Boat Show
from August 26 until August 30, Lee says.
Its new generation batch of 120 vessels ranging from 5 metre to 8 metre, including centre consoles,
half and full-cabin vessels, are in the process of being imported, fitted out and delivered over the next
    few weeks and months.

this is very old news that was released when they changed hands....

I would love to see this design come back here and be re released in its former glory should they decided to fold
