Thread: Flathead tide

    Re: Flathead tide

Flathead will feed any stage of the tide (almost) but they will be in different spots, they are lazy hunters and will hide and wait for food to come to them, so armed with that, you will be able to find a few fish almost any time during the tide. On a high/rising tide, they will be right up in the shallows, lurking in wait for small Whiting and Mullet that hang around there at high tide, as it starts to drop (my favorite Flathead time) all these small bait fish (and prawns and stuff) have to leave the flats, the sneaky Flathead will wait near weed beds and small drains running off the flats, so concentrate your efforts there, during the very low tide, they will be in deeper holes and steep drop offs, hoping for a bit of a snack, you need to understand a Flathead to fish for them with any measure of consistancy.

Thanks for all the advice, certainly a lot to consider. Will keep you informed with my progress.
