Hey guys there has been a little bit of interest on other forums in regard to the Mount Isa barra comp. Here is some info for those seeking it.

From the official website...
Fishing action in 2012 will commence at 6pm Friday October 26;
Weigh station closes 12pm Sunday October 28
with a line up of family entertainment through until presentations.

For anyone who is curious I would recommend checking out the official website of the competition at: http://www.lakemoondarrafishingclassic.com.au/
Keep your eye on this website in early August. This is when online nominations become available.

Also I have added an album of pictures from last years event (in the photo gallery) at my website:
http://www.nqfishing.com

I would strongly encourage anyone who has never been to Mount Isa to come and participate in 2012. I know after personally fishing in the Tinaroo barra bash experiencing the Moondarra competition served as a rewarding new experience. Last year's event was hailed as an overwhelming success and even received community awards. It is a family orientated competition but also attracts some of the best barra fishermen in North Qld. When you see the prizes it is no wonder!

Good planning makes the event more enjoyable, last year we had two great social nights in the lead up (Thurs, and Fri) including a halloween party and slideshow presentation by Steve Starling. The visitors who timed their run wisely got to experience it all! Do yourself a favour and pencil it into your diary for this year. Get away from the muggy predictable east coast and come see the outback for a few days!

Cheers,
Dan
