Lowrance Elite - 5x DSI Fish Finder

Hi all,

I hope to get this unit for my birthday. I will be getting one just deciding which one. I need to make my mind up pretty soon as my birthday is in a week. I would like to buy it off line so i would have to allow for shipping and so on. Does the Lowrance unit which im looking at as stated in the title of this thread have:

- Standard sounder view not just DSI
- Ability to see bait
- Ability to pick up on fish (mulloway)
- Suitable for estuary use or water to 10m deep

Argent help needed! I really like this unit, seems to be great value for money.

I am interested in getting a DSI soon as well.
I recently read someone mentioning that the Elite DSI models do not have normal sounder view, only DSI screen???? Yet to confirm this myself. Mention was made that you need to go to HDS to have both screens.
They will show bait, fish and structure well, you just need to learn to read and tune them for best results.
Normal screens with arches are very easy to read for people who have learned to read them, the DSI would be no different.
