    sounder reading

    Hi
We have Furuno sounder and yesterday while out in the chop the water level was going from say 3.5 metres to .6 of a metre. this was happening while stationery and travelling.
Was it because of the lumpy conditions. It righted itself each time it happened but i have never noticed this refore.

    Help anyone

Hard to say what would be happening there Ronnie without more info, but may just see how it goes over a couple of trips in differing conditions, If it was choppy enough for the trannie to be bouncing out of the water could explain it even if very momentary. Otherwise check your gain and depth range settings to be appropriate for where you are.

Air bubbles around the tranny will do this.

Bouncing around in choppy water will throw a lot of air bubbles and white water down under the hull and cause the sounder to do that.
