    Eurong / Fraser Is

Heading over to Fraser for a few days and staying at Eurong. Is it possible to access Eurong from Hook Point?

Was hoping to get that ferry instead of other alternative?

    Cheers Waz

Yes & its a much better run up the beach from Hook Pt.

For the first time ever we stayed at Eurong on our last trip. First week up at Orchid & the 2nd week at Eurong. Usually we just stay at Orchid, but thought staying at Eurong for the 2nd week to do the southern end of the island was a good idea...... never again!!! Orchid is the place to be.....

Just watch your tides. Hook Point is still impassable 3/4 tide up.

You do have the option of the inland track. but... R . U . F . F. as.

vehicle permits, camping permits and barge tickets can be bought from the Manta Ray office as you get into town on the left hand side.

    Yes Heath I agree.

I am heading to Fraser mid year and staying at Ocean Lake... the further north ya go, the less crowded ( camping this time. )

Yep, did years of Eurong and Happy Valley when the kids were smaller and we spent more time in the lakes and at eli creek but now they're a bit bigger it's orchid all the way. We only stop at Eurong on our through to go to the bakery for one their heart attack donuts.

Time your run around the bottom of the island with a low tide and Hook Point is very passable. When traffic stops coming from the opposite direction you know you've got your timing wrong.
