Not sure what V8 Toyota have been installing in your area but the rest of the country and the world get the 4.5L TDV8 with 200kw and 650nm. Twin turbos and 6-speed auto. Has been that way since its first release in the 200series.

The ranger isn't quite in that league. But then it also falls short of the STX Navara which has 170kw 550nm. Still it is no slow poke.

    • 4.5 litre V8 Turbo-diesel engine
    • 151kW power
    • Class-leading 430Nm of torque
    • Meets strict Euro IV emission standards
    • Ergonomic adjustable steering

This is from the 70 series , which is probably what the comparison was made with.

Couldn't really compare a wagom Toyo to a dual cab Nissan / Colorado / Ranger

    cheers
