Chased a few fish up in Mackay last week, bit cold still even up their with the average water temp being 18degrees in the dam and 19-20ish in the brackish waters.
Fished Kinchant dam twice, the fish where right up in the shallow weed banks and were pretty much sulking all day. Managed a few half heated hits, boils, follow's ect... But did end up nailing one in less than a meter of water which was pretty cool. Hit was pretty crazy. Got him on a NRX 6-12lb 7'1'' spin with a branzino and 30lb leader - lure was a riding pepper.
Also fished the brackish water (pretty much salt these days just dont want to make a whole new report) and nailed the tarpon. Got ridiculous numbers, best would of pushed 50tarpon a session between three of us with over 10 triple hook ups on fish nun under 55cm biggest going 69cm. Got these on the ZMan 6inch swimmers and TT 1/2oz warheads, also my mate got a cool little barra.

Heyyy, they are the warmest hats. City beach told me they are the next big thing... But the pink one my mate is wearing, its just lucky he also has a girl, wouldn't give him much hope otherwise
