Thanks for the report Ray, sounds good mate.
Tell me the bass, were they on lures or bait?
Cheers,
John.
After hearing quite a few reports that the dam is starting to live up to its reputation as a good winter fishery I started to do a bit of exploring.
First trip only a lowly tandanus but found a few areas to explore further.
Yesterday we got 3 yellas and half a dozen bass.
So I had to go back again today.
Nice dawn.
This is the type of dawn shot that I really like.
And this.
Ended up with 17 bass and 3 yellas.
.
Cheers
Ray

G'Day Ray ,
Just a question if I may . Where would you suggest is a good place to put a couple of shrimp traps in from the shore . I do not have a leccy hence the need for shore based bait hunting.
Thanks .
Shawn
In around 2 feet of water in among lillys or grass.
Cheers
Ray
Good work, Ray. Nice to see the dam starting to come back. The recent & current cold snaps should get them schooling if they aren't already. Cheers, Pete

Shawn it is just a matter of trial and error. My main concern in the public areas would be that the pots are still there when you go back to check them. I would be using heavy nylon line that sinks to tie the traps off to trees so that they are not obvious to passers by.
Went back fishing again today and 10 bass,3 yellas and one tandanus and 150 redclaw.
Cheers
Ray
Ray, How many traps got your 150 redclaw? Also can I ask what your choice of bait in the traps was? Thanks, Pete

Thanks for the report

Gigantor 8 pots for the redclaw they seemed to have slowed down a lot in the daytime but if left in overnight they are still catching reasonably well.
Latest score.
2 Mates over 40 bass each downstream on 12/7
1 mate 11 bass and 11 yellas upstream on 13/7
Myself 43 bass and one yella downstream on 14/7.
Mate 20 odd bass downstream yesterday before he was chased home by the wind..
Cheers
Ray
