    South Pacific 710 winch issue!

Wondering if anyone is currently using this brand of winch atm. It has a S/S gypsy and hauls 6mm short link chain and 12mm soft nylon rope. Problem is, where the rope is spliced to the chain, it is too thick to slip into the gypsy, so it wont grip and keeps slipping, and had the same issue when using silver rope. Does anyone have any hints on how to remedy this?

hey mate ill have a stab here, im thinking the eye splice will need to be redone and make it a long tapered eye splice, as your making the tucks, start nipping/reduce the strand fibres and then put it under your foot and roll that splice in a thin sausage.
