It't just occured to me that many will not be seeing past the price issue...and yes the price of fishing tackle is being activly manipulated.....nothing unusual there.
But we have to recognise that the fishing market is one of the most contrived, manipulated and market managed markets there is.
Every phase of the fishing markitung process is being engineered.
because the vast majority of fishing purchasers are not fully infomed this makes things easier.
The fishing market is driven by opinion, and mostly that is opinion provided by the manufacturing parent companies.
In this day an age it is near imposible to find any part of the fishing media that is not linked into endorsements or product placement, there is very little independent comment or opinion.
and it works out from there.......and if you look with open eyes I do not think there is a single sales, marketing or pricing ploy ( including the dirty tricks) that is not used.
Again planned a driven by the parent companies.
And chief among them is pricing to what the market will stand and not bassed what the product costs to supply.
Don't expect anything to be fair or equatable.
It all comes down to us as a market sector being a bunch of poorly informed and compulsive suckers.
Those of us posting to this thread ( and being reasonabley well informed) are probably a miniscule minority.
So the best we can hope for is resolve to treat the tackle industry with suspicion & distain and buy wherever we can get a better deal...if that works out to be overseas, so bee it.
The vast majority of the profits will be going overseas no matter what you do.
As for the local tackle shop...well that will just have to survive on service and bait.
