    chinaman+longtail

    Hi guys,

been a while since i was out last so a mate and I took advantage of the weather and went for a close offshore fish in his tinny.

We found a nice little patch of reef and set about jigging some new lures, first up was a nice surprise and a decent sized chinaman fish.

Straight after that one I hooked into a maori just shy of legal and a few legal snapper esky was feeling the pain lol.

Tristan set about getting some sweetlip for the esky and also kept catching these random little sharks, anywhere from bouncing on the bottom to retrieving at high speed and getting hit mid water. the big one got foul hooked in the bum and went really really hard

The highlight of the day was tristans PB longtail, there were a fair few schools of mac tuna working and we were lucky enough to be waiting for one to feed into our direction when a small pack of longtails came up close to the boat, one throw in there and a few seconds later he was on. the fish went about 105cm and he was/is stoked

Weather was perfect out there couldn't really have asked for better conditions

    cheers for reading

Couple of Great fish there Dan,

Chinaman is a beauty and I aint surprised at all that longies like those lures.
Suppose they can handle some speed to it you need to spin them quick..???
Or did you just hop it through the water..??

    hi pete,

they can be spun back fairly quick but that's not how the longtail was fooled, was just cast into the pack and jigged immediately, taken as it sunk

    cheers

It was a great day out testing the new model and they deffinatly proved they hold there own. Hopefully if the weather and handbrake permits we can get back out there again soon.
    cheers
