Give a man a fish, he'll eat it and fall asleep.

Teach a man to fish and he'll endanger an entire species

    Wow! What a great video!
What is the rules for boats etc on North Pine. I assume not petrol motors, seeing your rig there. Do you need to buy some sort of permit? I am thinking of buying a canoe for that very purpose.
    Thanks for the great video!

Well done guys. It is always good to see people who are willing to share their knowledge. Thanks.

Good tip with the container for the bait. Wounder how that would work in a crab pot. Might need a slightly heavier duty one when going after muddies.

Go to this site, explains it all & how to apply.

Note that SEQ water has stopped all on water activities on its dams including NPD.

The PRFMA has sent an email to all permit holders to that effect.

    Re: North Pine redclaw

you can use rockmelon too, I have had more success on rockmelon than boiled spuds, same thing, packed in containers with holes drilled to allow water ingress.

Containers are zipped tied onto the cross member of operahouse trap, this makes sure it is centred.

My ropes are tied directly above and centre of the net as opposed to the edge of the frame...Why do this you may ask?

Simple...this is to ensure that any redclaw in the pot cannot fall out when the pot is 90 degrees when lifting, so it remains at 180 degrees instead.

Hope this might give you some additional info.

    Cheers, Peter

    Re: North Pine redclaw

    Hey guys,
Thanks for all the useful posts. Went out last night and caught 115 in three hours. Size varied, and there were only a few whoppers, but still a good feed for a few people. I kept 40 for myself and let my mate take the rest as he was having a barby on Friday night.
