Crab Trap Regulations NSW vs QLD

So was in BCF in QLD and was about to buy some crab pots for use in NSW and asked if the regs in QLD where the same in NSW.

I was told no in NSW you can only have 2 openings but in QLD you can have up to 4.

So I left with no crab pots and to do some investigating. I clearly remembered reading in the NSW fishing guide book it said up to maximum of 4 entry for NSW but wanted to check it out first prior to spending my hard earned.

So looked at the NSW regulations bottom of this page it states up to 4 openings for NSW.

    http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/...ons/sw/methods

So I went onto the BCF website and they clearly state 2 entry pots for NSW and 4 entry pots for QLD.

Now am I missing something? Is BCF trying to set there own regulations on crab pots or am I having a blonde moment?

Mate I would go with the NSW Fisheries web site for the right regs.
Rainbow Trout is NOT skittle flavoured fish.........

Check the net size and diameter or length/width as I think this is where the difference is.

NEVER trust any retailer to know the correct regs..... I have stood at the counter of a shop quite a number of times and the counter jumper has been regailing a customer very strongly and positively with their knoweledge of the regs and been dead wrong.

Trust only the government sources..and then be carefull.

    cheers
Its the details, those little details, that make the difference.
