Gear Ratio on Game Fishing Reels?

Hi, Before i start Im fairly new to Fishing in Australian/Victorian waters!
I have been looking on e bay at a few different game fishing reels but im a little confused about the different gear ratios, the 3 i have been looking at all have different gear ratios which are as follows. I actually bought a cheap game reel before (fairly small but not sure of ratio) and it seemed to take forever to wind in compared to a spinning kind of reel...

Ideally what im looking for is one that will wind in a lot faster so could you possibly explain to me a little about the differences in the ones i been looking at please...ie,what one would wind in the fastest

I plan to fish in about 30 metres of water for Snapper etc and i also plan to fish of a oil rig i work on which is about 30 metres before i even touch the water so im guessing it be about 60 metres from deck to sea bed...Thank you in advance for your help! Iain the Loch fisherman from Orkney Islands in Scotland!

    Gear Ratio 3,1:1.

    Ratio 3:8.1

    Gear ratio 3.4:1

I honestly think you would be better off with a Shimano Baitrunner 6500(spin reel) for snapper, but if you must have an overhead, a TLD 20 would do the job.

You can get either reel for under $200. and both have a faster gear ratio than the reels you are looking at and also hold plenty of line.
