not knowing the downrigger yet whats the best line releasers to buy , bombs what sort pancake or round with fin, i like the stacker idea , i was looking at the cannon offshore release gear, what would be the best and easy way for me a beginner to go. regards poogie

I have only used Cannon and Walker releases. The cannon have lasted much longer. Inside the Bay you will get away with something like an 8lb traditional round bomb. The pancake style 10lbers can tend to track a bit but will hold in deeper water and at faster troll speeds.
In a Tinny you could replace the wire with braid to reduce the hum

As Neil said , cannon are the only release clips i've used, as for the acoustics you get from using wire on tinnies, just go to a heavy braid or mono.
In faster current areas like the main channels you will find a heavy bomb is needed to stop the drag back on the bomb.
D.R. in the bay can let you fish areas where conventional methods wont allow you,
