Thread: Baitcast combo

    Baitcast combo

I'm looking for new baitcast combo around the $200-$250 mark. Maybe the Phlueger Trion 4-7kg rod? I don't know about the reel yet. Looking to spool it with 20lb Fins braid and target mangrove jack this Summer.

I understand that I won't be able to cast lightly weighted plastics with the baitcaster, I'm mainly looking at throwing prawnstars and hardbodies as well as live mullet and the such.

    Any help is appreciated,
    Kaidon

Mate look at the Shimano Cruxis combo from Ray Anne marine in South Australia. Excellent value and a good quality reel. It's cheap because the reel is a superseded model

I got one of those Trion's in the sale at Mo's last week. Cost me $70 delivered, great value.

Classic style to, no split grip rot either!

Ah I see the dreaded Ausfish filter at work
insert m.o.t.a.c.k.l.e without dots for the link to work.
