Knot sense. Help please.

Can anyone tell me if you really need to buy the Knot Sense UV light at around $60 or will any UV light do (ie $10 special off ebay).

Knot sense will be fine if you put it on indoors and go outside the natural uv light from the sun swill send it off very quickly but you wont get it to go off if you use it at night

Culbara is right on, I use Knot Sense on my wind-ons and just put them outside for a while and let some free sun do the work.

it goes off very fast in sunlight

waiting to use some tomorrow myself, as soon as the sun is out

I have a UV light (ordinary one) and I don't use it for Knot sense, way too slow.

go for a 20 m walk in sunlight and it will have gone off - just a daylight job

Thanks guys. I know that it sets in the sun but the reason i'm asking about the light is for situations like night fishing or rigging up the night before an early morning fishing session etc.

I guess I will just buy a cheap UV light and see if it works and if it doesn't then I will look at one of the proper ones.
