    Key start-want lanyard kill switch. How?

    G'day,

    anyone know how to fit an emergency stop MOB lanyard thingie, to a boat with a key start?

    Here ya go. One deadman switch.
    It needs to be wired into the ignition circuit though.

    Look for a cable tie and a black knob - most key start binnacles in small boats have them anyway.

    If you can put a picture of your binnacle up or what motor is it??

    GBC is very correct in saying a lot of them have either a cable tie or an o-ring placed on it to effectively bypass the switch.

    I just had a thought.
    I seem to remember some key switch having the key as the safety yanky out doova so when the key comes out (the key is attached to the lanyard) the outboard stops.
    Maybe this might be worth investigating too.
    I intend on living for-ever....so far so good
