    This is what I did as well, there was a group buy on a motorbike website I read recently and I got a gopro hd hero. They work very very well, the casing is weather proof and that suction cap works well on the front deck of my tinny (as well as on the motorbike). I still put a safety line around it though just in case.

    Not the sleekest looking camera but the video quality is simply the best available in the price range.

    Highly recommended. I'm going to take the tinny out on Sunday so I'll take some videos and link them here.

    I have a 3mp Go Pro and its a pos. I have modded the suction cup mount to work with this.

    for $20 u can pick up sunglasses cameras from ebay shipped from china and hong kong they record nice video it also takes still pictures the recoding time varies i only have 2gb card in mine but the battery is soppose to last 2 hours and charges by the USB port on your computer

    I have one that I bought from these guys, I got the fully intergrated one

    They have heaps of mounts also, I use it on my roadbike and dirtbike and the quality is fantastic...... I haven't tried it in the boat but will give it ago next trip.
