    Setting up a tinnie

Hi looking for some hints/info on setting up a tinnie. I have an old 10' aluminium tinnie and a evinrude 6 hp outboard. Any tips on mounting outboard for optimum preformance. thanks Kev

    Hi FTW

Fit a pair of pods and turn it into a 12 footer. (Search on here re podding a 10foot tinny)

Fit a bimini and avoid cancer.

Instal an old plastic seat base on metal legs on a wooden base and place it infront of the rear thwart (seat). Slip a 25lt tank under the seat to keep the sun off it and also give you plenty of range.

Check motor height and lift it by installing a spacer or two on top of the transom.

Fit foils to the motor to get rid of the twitchyness when you move the tiller arm.

    Enjoy

    Cheers

Not sure what you mean by "motor mounting hints".
The only one I can think of is install it on the back part of the boat.

    Sorry...........

Excellent advice. Furthermore, please ensure the spinning part of the motor bit goes towards the bottom.

Thanks since I put the motor at the flat end rather than the pionty end and put the spinning bit down ( thought it was some sort of seagull berley maker) boating's become heaps better
