boat mooring lifter

Hi,
Just purchased a property at Patterson Lakes Victoria that backs on to the canel.
Not wanting to anti-foul by boat I am now looking at purchasing a floating mooring/lifter. The two I am considering are Custom Float (typically 2 large pontoons that are raised to lift the boat from the water) or Seapen that allows the boat to remain at sea level removing surrounding water.

Can anyone please offer pros and cons for each product/concept.

What boat are we talking about?

Have a look at air berths too.

The seapen concept works too as the growth is inhibited by the lack of water change / turnover. A neighbour has one and the crap on his hull seems to fall off as he uses the boat.

The airberth keeps everything dry and out of the water and muffs can be fitted to motors and they can then be flushed. Not so easy in the seapen.

IMHO second hand airberths etc is the way to go as they do hold their value after the initial depreciation

Check out what is legal. Different rules everywhere in regards to them. Some are council controlled drainage , others are waterways or whatever they are called.

Some peple don't want boats raised as they block views so seapen may be the option.

For airberths and any ones that sink and rise you need signigigant water under the area to sink em. In high wind areas and higher chop places different one ssuit.

All need power.

Sea pen are doing a solar model and are now using a lager tube to stop water splashing in and airberth style ones were using either a genset or powered blower.

Going on a pontoon at a whatrf or on a swing mooring >

Drive on pontoons for smaller boats are simple if set up right.

Alays put a winch and a boat ramp dolly in your own back yard ?
