    shimano t-curve 701 snapper or 672 powerspin

    hi guys

    i have a stella 4000fb with a flueger supreme ASJ PFLS-SP661M 6`6`medium action line rating 4-8kg using 20lb braid for SP. i was wondering if this rod would handle barra. any suggestions i was thinking maybe shimano t-curve 701 snapper or 672 powerspin. And 40 to 50lb braid on the stella.

    I can only comment on the Power-spin. Nice rod, perfect for barra or heavy snapper with 30lb. I don't think you need to go heavier but the rod will handle it. Matches up well with the 4000 sustain.

    flueger supreme ASJ PFLS-SP661M 6`6`medium action

    Please excuse my ignorance, and i dont mean to be a rude smart arse, but really, what does all the BS letters mean, does that make it a super duper rod, or is it a marketing BS exercise to make people buy the rod cause all the BS stuff after flueger supreme makes it sound like a top rod.

    As i said dont take it the wrong way, but I think all the description is BS marketing crap that means jack $hyte. And that applies to all rods not just yours.

    Marlin_Mike,
    I cant explain the ASJ PFLS but the SP661M is as follows
    SP= spin
    66=6"6 long
    1= 1 piece
    M= medium action

    This is a standard code for most rods similar to loomis and lamiglas hope this helps.

    Thumbs up Re: shimano t-curve 701 snapper or 672 powerspin

    I run a Stella 4000 on a T Curve 701 Snapper using 30lb braid & I find it a great set up. I have used it in the creeks of the jacky jacky for barra/jacks, at the mouth of the escape for jew and queenies and catching snapper and kingies on soft plastics at the cavelli islands.
    It's one of my favorite outfits with a heap of grunt down low, a good responsive top end and easy to cast for long periods. I use it for both hard bodies and soft plastics and love it.
    When all's said & done... more's said than done!
