40-50 lb braid 80lb leader 4-8 kg rod or better still 5-10kg is a starting point strong leader as these fish have a mouth like sandpaper and will wear through 80lb as well

Are you casting or trolling ? Spin or Overhead ?

    Re: barra rod setup?

8-10kg (spin or cast) should keep you out of trouble

6'6" - 7' is a good length as it allows longer casts & makes handling a fish around the boat a little easier

    Leaders - go 55lb Schneider Klear ( 0.8mm) - Braid 30lb is ideal

Basic guidelines ...... and every one has their own ideas .. but this would be a good start

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Over the last couple of years a lot of work has been done on twisted leaders - General consensus is stick to a tough mono leaders (Schneider is the toughest)

Its actually not a specific leader material - Its mono line (just tough as nails) - ..... I bought mine from Tackle warehouse (Camp hill) - but you should be able to buy it at most good tackle stores .... Its much cheaper too (per meter)

    Hi
I'll be there at Easter, I know it will be busy but I'll take any chance to get up there, can't wait to see a new looking dam. I use 15 kg braid and 80 lb leader . Mick
AS THE SUN SETS ON THE HORIZON I BID YOU A FINE FAREWELL
