You are right of course - Toyota had the forsight to make sure it had a good dealer network in place in the growth areas for it which originally was the country...and then expanded and of course their early stuff broke down just as much as the series land rover's BUT they were able to fix them locally and had parts readily available. These days parts availability is not an issue for Land Rover and their parts are the same price of in some cases cheaper than Toyota, however it has nothing like the number of dealers in the country and the cities for that matter now and could not afford to go and set up in the country where Toyo has been established for so long now in the apprehension that some of the those clients would go with LR.
