    Boiling to modify plastics

I have been reading with great interest all the talk about lure modifications that can make the diference between fish and no fish, and I have learnt a great deal from you all already in regards to lure mods for barra. Can anyone give me a "recipee", and perhaps an explanation of the how & why behind boiling soft plastics? It would be much appreciated! What plastics are most suited to this form of moidification??
P.S Only 2 sleeps to go untill our trip to awonga..... The minuets seem like hours.... Pod

Poddy, I boil slickrigs only. They are a bit stiff out of the packet and 3 - 5 mins in boiling water softens them up considerably and adds to their wobbly action during slow retrieves...

No need to do this with hollowbellies....

Yeh Pod .... slick rigs go much better after a good boil up

Remove the jig head & put into boiling water ( a few at a time ) - 4 mins is good.
lay them flat or hang them to cool

When you pack em away .... store them carefully (straight in their own tray) no point getting them all kinked by just chucking them in their bag.

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!
