I get the feeling that anyone who answered schoolie hasn't had a real good look at the photo. The fish is looking a little worse for wear, there's definitely a few areas on the fish that look as though it's received a bit of a touch up (faded patches etc). As far as the spot on the dorsal, I'm pretty sure I can't even see the front of the dorsal fin from this pic, let alone the large white spot as the DPI diagram suggests.
So I'd concur with Matty (Business Class) it's copped some rubbing in the esky and looks like a 'faded' spotty - but upon closer inspection without doubt a spotty.
There we go, we can close the thread now...
