EFI Conversion - 2005 Merc 150

anyone know if the 2005 150hp Saltwater eddition can be converted to EFI easily?

It would be possible (anything is possible ) as they're the same 2.5 litre engines, but by the time you bought all the bits it would be incredibly expensive, and for very little benefit over your carbs. I'd hate to imagine pricing up all that gear as merc parts.

At a guess, for the same outlay (or probably much cheaper) would see you trade into an optimax, etec or 4 stroke to get a real benefit it fuel economy.

Head to www.screamandfly.com and ask there, lots have done conversions in the past if I remmember properly, also current EFI up rating conversions with aftermarket gear that works better is common also.

Anyway they will know what is the best course of action even if it is none.
