    102cm Barra caught from Kayak

Just back from a trip up North in Lucinda.

Last year I caught a 100cm Golden Trevally.
    This year I caught a 102cm Barra. (12kg)

Barra was caught along the jetty at about 12:30pm from the Kayak.

Big nuts paddling out the front there - tide rips, and the swimming enclosure out the front regularly catches puk puks.

Re: 102cm Barra caught from Kayak

I have a small electric motor (see photo: attached to base of rudder)
I did go out a couple of days without the motor though.

I always plan my trips around the tides also. Basically I have done it all there ie I have paddled/battled against ripping tides and against the wind, flat battery, broken motor, rough conditions etc etc. I've had to deal with it.

In the end you just have to get the job done and paddle when you have to, and end up with strong arms.

People go paddling in Kayaks up that way all the time. Only once have I seen a croc but that was my first trip and I wanted to go look for one and so I found and left again quickly. The croc was more scared of me. They seem a bit shy up that way.
I've heard all the stories, crocs, sharks etc

I hate when people put the wind up me about things like that but once I get out on the water and start fishing I start to relax and enjoy it.

I could also get run over by a drunk idiot or just an idiot on the road.

Inspiration is what I am lacking at the moment actually.

It was so easy to go fishing up north but now I'm back home it's an effort because I have to travel about 3 quarters of an hour to go fishing and I have to load and unload the Kayak and gear each time.
