    Hervey Bay Fishing Spots

    Hi all heading to h bay for a week on wed with the wife and kids. going to be doing a little r n r, whale watching and somewere in there throw a couple of days fishin in. I have a 5.5m half cab pursuit and feul not to much of a problem,however not that familiar with the area and any info would be great, where and what are bitting. will be launching from urangan.

    Hi jason.
    I would start at the artificial reef, on the northern side of big woody.
    Another spot to try would be closer in to Big woody, on the northern side
    ( the kero shed ) Just a few to start with !

    thanks to every one for your input. as it turned out the misses got very ill 2 days in, from eating @ the seafood buffet at urangan harbour. (chowder) took her 3 days and nights to get over it. did manage to head out to see some whales which the kids loved, but didnt manage to get a line wet from the boat, caught a couple of whiting from the beach

    I had a similar incident with a oyster a few
    years back, from the buffet at urangan...
    Not good !

    after talking to a few of the residents, this seems to happen quite a bit from the same place, im surprised there still in business. i know that we wont go back or recomend it to any one else
