At Heaven's gate a soldier stood,
his story ready to tell,
St Peter said, 'no need my son all is understood,
Go right in cos you've already served your time in Hell'
I'll be doing a road trip this weekend. Up to Rocky Saturday and back Sunday.
That should give an idea of comfort and highway fuel usage.
TX, Brandon & George..... yep, hard to get it right. The truck looked a little " blocky " to me when I first saw them.... trying to smooth out the edges, if ya know what I mean.
and murf.... yep, she is pretty, but I can fix that
it probably needs to be lifted a tad and next year put some bigger rubber on her feet.
One thing I have noticed, people don't give way to a 4 x 4 WITHOUT a bullbar.... . need to remedy that situation....

It does look good Phill.
Well done.

It looks good Phil.
I was gonna get you a shovel to lean on to start with. Looked just like a council car, but the mags did the trick.
Will you be getting the same type back as the last ute?
Give me a call if you get this one stuck in the mud and snorkling, I will come and get you out. And look out fo trees.
Kev.
Hi Phill,
The new ride looks good.
What type of tint did you get and what were the $$$$ involved.
Cheers Glen,
One Life, What will you catch next!
Nice work Phil,
How much trade/sale did you get for the Navara?
Regards
Darren
Kev,
wondered when you'd pop ya head. Don't know about alloy tray yet or b/bar. Still mulling it over.
Glen,
It is called Midnight Express and most car tinting places us it. I think it is a 3M product. I hear on the radio that Tint-a-car are offering $100 off this tint. if that is the case, then it should cost $150 for ya car.
Darren,
trade-in was low ( 8, I could have got up to 12 privately, but hate tyre kickers. ), but that's not a problem as it had depreciated to that level anyway. The part I will miss the most was all the accessories on it.
I have completed more than 1200k's over the weekend and economy rate is 8.76ltrs / 100k's. Maybe if I dropped the tailgate it would help
What this means is a yearly fuel saving ( as opposed to the Nissan ) of around $1170.
Add in stuff like:-
no maintenance issues ( apart from services )
a lessor cost in repayments
50% tax break
depreciation
fuel saving,
and I am about $13,000 a year better off by buying a new truck.... ya gotta look at the big picture
So when it lossens up, that fuel economy should get better. I think Holden are claiming 8.4 !
Found the only problem....... mongrel seats for long drives. My back is aching, need to install some Falcon seats...
Cheers
Phill

It all boils down to the dollars Phil.
If they wanna pay you to drive a new car why argue.
Gotta love the rebait.
Then again Skanky Hoes are great too.
Today I rustproofed the truck.
I stuck me noggin under the thing and sprayed every clean looking nut, bolt, washer etc and anything metal with Tectyl 506. Even got inside the chassis rails. The dealer wanted $stupid for this and I did it for under $30.
I also found some surface rust on tailshaft bolts and some others. FFS ! already >>>>>> !
Yep just a holden badged truck with a proven Isuzu motor.
Also had 2 chips in the windscreen fixed today.
