It certainly was good to get a couple of fish & encounter a couple more ..... even better that we both got one! - still learning about Winter fishing
As for the boat ..... no big deal - I'm used to it!

Just out of interest NAGG, what would be some of they main difference you have discovered between fishing for impoundment barra in the warmer months and fishing for them during winter?

Hi Dougy .... In summer I tend to fish open points or bays that are subject to the prevailing conditions ....... long days & into the night . I predominantly use plastics fishing for transient fish ( let the fish come to us ) .

Winter .... Is more about finding water that is sheltered from the winds ( deeper water nearby - with the greatest sun exposure ) .... We fish slow with HBs that are finely tuned ( you can still fish placcies though) - it was quite interesting to see fishing sitting up high in the water column ... sunning themselves - A cast to any tree top in deep water could possibly produce a fish ( new to me)

More importantly ...... I'm now confident of fishing for barra year round no more suffering

You can get a good hang from the trees if that winds coming in from the south.

You must have been near my honey hole lol!! All the fish you see sunning in 20 too 30ft are the teasers!! the hardest ones to convince that the lure is worth a bite! After you get sick of sight casting too them for nothing you go into a shallow bay and they seem more keen on eating a lure.... but if you cast a million times one of those deep water sunners will eventually bite but it gets frustrating!!
And as you drift along you here woooomp! wooooomp! a deep sound under the boat followed by a ball of rolling water I spooked about 20 fish under my boat today, gets the heart started!!
I cast plastics at a fallen tree on a bank today that dropped to 20ft, 10 minutes of plastic and nothing happened, put on a minnow 5 mins nothing and there was some well placed lures near the log....then io got a bit too close and hooked the tree oh well....i electric over to unhook it and i spook about 5 barra that were under the log, sounded like dynamite under the boat and water boils both sides of the boat....arrrggggggg!

Actually I think the best part was when you hooked that barra on Sunday morning that came out of the clear water. the site of a big fish wish his mouth open whilst underwater was amazing.

Sorry about the crap leccy driving but its hard to stop a glass boat and get it in reverse on the leccy.

    More leasons learnt.

    Cheers

That would have made good video

no worries mate ...... I probably should have went hard at it rather than back off as early as I did ...... 1 ft closer to the boat - & it would have been totally different (Maybe ). ..... Thats barra fishing
