    Redclaw at Wivenhoe

The missus want to go to Wivenhoe with the kids and catch some Redclaw, the problem is I have never chased them before so all your help would be great. Looking to go in a few weeks time.

I'm not sure if their are any there at the moment. All the times I have tried Wivenhoe in the past have been futile. When the, "Tide", was dropping rapidly the weed died off and the catfish slammed every redclaw they could see. And they could see all of them as they no longer had anywhere to hide.

But if you want to give it a go just buy some opera house pots and put some cooked potato in the bait sleve or some meat of some kind and see what happens. You've got nothing to loose by having a go.

Just a post script to my previous post.

There are plenty of catfish in this dam so why not have a crack at them.

Hi we went up there 4 or 5 weeks ago and picked up about twenty although most were very small. Couldn't decide wheather potato or meat worked better as both picked them up so still sitting on the fence with that one. But yes they are about.
