been camping plenty of tim,es where it has rained all week, sometimes two weeks! Never fun
Levuka was a swamp. It rained a fair bit and I pity anyone in the "proper" campsites as it looked positively third world down there. We camped just inside the campsite gates, up the hill a bit, and still pulled the pin at lunchtime today because of the weather, i now know why a rainforest is called a rainforest.

We were at levuka and had a great time .We picked a floodfree spot ,set up a 30x30 tarp in the middle of the 3 vans and watched the kids mudslide .Robert and Rosemary were a wonderful hosts as always and Don Costa was fantastic sunday night .One of the best performances i saw from him ,must have been the venue.
Having said all that we saw plenty of people ill prepared /flooded out /stuck and unhappy .

At Heaven's gate a soldier stood,
his story ready to tell,
St Peter said, 'no need my son all is understood,
Go right in cos you've already served your time in Hell'

darren,
mayday long weekend we are going back! inside the tent was perfect (dry),
it was all the water & mud going underneath the tent was the problem. was like walking on a water bed.

I was smart and stayed home and watched fishing shows on Foxtel and drank beer..
Springsure was a hit, had a ball, red claw, shooting, 4x4, camp fire, stew....will put up a full report when i get my head back in work and puter mode
Cheers
I am with you Seahunt.
Stayed home away from the crowds, water, traffic etc.
Did housework, boat maintenance, built rod racks, watched DVD's etc...
Ventured out on Sunday for a 4 x 4 excursion back of Beaudesert with fellow Ausfishers. Report in 4 x 4 section.
I know it was not a camping easter, but !!!!
Mates went to places like Airlie Beach, Moreton Island, Maroochydore etc.... not good reports from them.

we were thinking of going to levuka! but decided against it! we camped at canungra!was mostly no rain! but unfortunatly on sunday morning one of our mates had a seizure! scared the crap outa us! he has no history of it! called ambo's they took him away , we packed there camper up and there kids and all our stuff and headed home! he is still in hospital! so bit of a hectic weekend for us cut early!
geez shano, that woulda been a shock to the system for you guys, hope he's ok.
Went to Baffle creek, first time there... rained the first few days, second day my son got hit in the face with a 7 iron, day at the hospital back in bundy after a ride in a couple of ambulances, some mending and a nice black eye... Dad fart arsed around every day more concerned with catching muddies for my lazy and (perhaps subconciously) selfish mother.. my little sister spent the whole time watching a portable DVD (great parenting mum and dad!)... bleh, sorry... I'm very bitter as I went through a lot of hassle and expense, even borrowing a car for them from a good mate to not get a single proper fishing day during the whole week with my dad... 2 hours first day, hour fourth day, that was it. By the time he finished mucking about half of each day had gone only for him to end up ferrying around my mother and sister... By that point I had the shits and ended up neglecting to spend enough time with my own kids!
So no, about $1500 and a lot of organising to come home feeling like it was a complete waste of time... I'm having a cry, then going to the barra park. o_O
Oh, I hooked onto what would have been an approx 100cm flathead just down from flatrock on a switchblade... I got it boatside and dad pissfarted around and took a whole minute to hand me the lip grips by which time it spat the lure
Adding insult to injury -
2x reels now have sticky drags
1x reel is seizing internally
1x rod has a broken tip guide
1x cast net has a 1.5ft section of sinkers torn off
4x lures need new rings and trebbles
1x yabby pump need new washers and wingnut
