    Most popular reels

Hi I am just wondering what the most popular make and model for reels would be. There are alot on the market so I am just wondering what people have, a brand name and model would be good.

    Thanks

    Re: Most popular reels

IMO shimano stradic would be a good allround reel for the $
Ignore the 10 year warranty they only have 12 mths
I have owned the 2000,2500 and 4000 nice reels
Had the twinpower which are smoother but will cost more

Biggest selling reels on the market is shimano and diawa.
Depends how much you want to spend, quite a few come up in the for sale section

    Re: Most popular reels

what sort of fishing style. Alvey certainly dominates the beaches and rocks to an extent of SEQ and NSW. Otherwise, who knows; there are too many brands and models. But daiwa and shimano seem to be the biggest sellers in this domain.

    Re: Most popular reels

Daiwa is my pick. Certate is great but Sol is good if you're on a budget. Alvey for beach and rocks only. Shimano spend more on ads than reel development.

    What are you targeting?

Daiwa Heartland is a more saltwater friendly version of the Sol, and my pick for the money.
