Family Fishing Festival Putt Bennett Sign-on

Sign on this afternoon for the 14th Annual Putt Bennett Family Fishing Festival.

Fish from Nambucca to Coffs Harbour, fishing from 12 Midnight tonight till Sunday Morning.

This is a great family competition with all juniors under 15years receiving free fishing gear at sign-on. Family price of $40.

Sign on between 4pm and 7pm today at North Beach Recreation and Bowling Club Mylestom (02 66554293) which is on the Bellinger River opposite the boat ramps.

Over 100 class prizes with free rod and reel draws each day for competitors.

There are Catch and Keep, Large Catch and Release and limited deep sea classes.

Over 80% of fish were entered in Catch and Release last year, which is limited to three species Flathead, Bream and Whiting. All Flathead over 70cm can only be entered in Catch and Release. Extra point scoring for C & R and free ticket in $500 Fishing Gear.

Come along and join in with your family, having a great time at this family friendly competitions.

Well good results at sign-on over 570 competitiors, lots of happy young anglers with their show bag of goodies and new rod and reel.

What a bargain family of two adults and up to four children and all the goodies for the under 15years.

Sign-ons today and Saturday as well.

Weather a little damp this morning. But lots of anglers out their fishing.


Lots of anglers stayed around for the 10 Rod and Reel draws which are held each day. Don't even have to catch a fish to win a prize.


Competition is held each year on the Second Weekend of January.
