    Re: Going Sharking

its a bit quicker to cut of as much meat as possible because it gets to hard for the ants to eat after a few days , i roughly cut it out than used a razor blade to get as much off as possible and now its in the back yard on a soccer ball to hold the shape while it drys it worked well last time . i dont know how the smell would be leaving the head for the ants , i had the head in a bucket for 7 hrs over night and it was pretty rank in the morning lol.

    cheers nico

Dont use burley or baloons, current is to strong..
Best off chucking live mullet, bream, catfish out as far as you can with a big ass sinker.

    Re: Going Sharking

    Hey tailorboi!
I really do suggest you heed the advice that others have posted about the current, wind and trying to float out bait in the brisbane river. The wind alone this week should be an indication of how hard it will be to float something, and especially in the brissy river. I'm quite sure you will find the float comming back and hitting the rocks . Also found when the river is like this, completely shite with water clarity being low and alot of sediment, the sharks arnt as active. Anyway mate have fun and good luck! hope you catch that shark

Thanks, I might just flick for some bream since everyone is saying it's going to be bad with all this wind. I am heading to Lota for a fish tomorrow

    Tailorboi,
Norman creek is right next to Hawthorne in norman park. Another thing, I've heard that eel fillets make good bait. If you get one of those bloody pike eels (I've certainly caught a few) cut it into large pieces if your game enough.

    cheers.

    Re: Going Sharking

If I caught an eel I would probably use it as a whole bait because their skin's so tough. Thanks for the help, I'll be going to Norman Park during the week as with others such as the Metroplex at Cannon Hill and Lota tomorrow.

Hey there Tailor boi. think outside the square.... Ever tried the Paravane system ive used it on many jettys and rivers works a treat, gets abait out and holds it while most people would drive past the spot.....

when you free to go agian?? im going as soon as this water clears up that little bit, your more then welcome to come along...

seems the bullys fired just befor myself and nicco got there.. probs in a feeding frenzy till the temp dropped off,...

Pick the hot STEAMY days! they tend to feed better!!

Thanks IceKnight, I am free weekends . I use 24kg gear aswell with 100lb wire traces for about 2m. I'll contact you. I think I am going to Hornibrook this weekend so if you can show me the spots and get me hooked onto some sharks that would be great.

    Thanks for the information,
    Tom
