    That said I have installed a Lonestar winch for a client and they do seem a good product. If I had a criticism it was the things are too quick on retrieve and they only get quicker as the drum fills. Even winding the anchor line on with two people in the shed was a bit hairy. One of these winches will find the shortcomings in your bowsprit very quickly if not on the ball.

    How do electric winches work when say the anchor is snagged does it just have a slipping clutch or power cuts out or something? I have never owned one

    Either the circuit breaker trips or something breaks Gazza.
