Hinze Boat Ramp?

I was thinking of a trip to Hinze in the next week or so but my mate informed me that the main ramp (the one you travel over the wall to get to) was or could be closed.Can anyone tell me if it's accessable/open at the moment?

don't think so. we've been using the old ramp in the western arm and there is a temporary ramp for the eastern(mudgeeraba) arm. not sure when the main ramp was due to reopen.

As Roo has said, no go on the ramp you mentioned until about 2010 if it will still be there after alterations. Currently a ramp at the top of range rd mudgeeraba and off the Numinbah rd. about 11.5kms down from the advancetown hotel. 2 new ramps are proposed with the alterations. Currently there is a 1km exclusion zone from the dam wall. Also the kiosk is not there anymore so you cannot buy a day license once your at the dam.
