You know I always suspected this.

This is why the Dam levels are going down and the ocean is rising.

You tell that bastard to put it back!

    Darylive - that's gold mate.
Joe's plonk must weigh 15-20kgs not that I picked it up more then once. One good thing about having a cracked sternum - the boys had to do all the heavy lifting - except for my barra, I wouldn't give them the pleasure.

The plonk did work really well though. Silent as when deployed. Holds really well except for 1 day when it was 25knts in the main basin with 3 of us casting, she would slowly drift - not a bad thing either. Drift fishing for barra!

    Hey Nagg,

He used lead. No diff other then lead reacting with Tinnie. I assume with enough knocks around rock bars, deck of the boat.... the concrete ones may eventually crack or start to chip?

Lead would last a life time.

I think it's that big because Joe borrowed Ben's buttplug and used it as a template .

I was thinking about duck taping around the length of my anchor chain...I reckon it would stop the rattling above and below the water whilst maintaining a certain amount of flelxability.....easier than pulling a bike tube over the chain.

What do ya reckon...anyone done that.

Steve .... We ran Gaffa tape around the anchor chain when we went up the Whitsundays ........... Yes it worked .... sort of ( but to protect the reef)

We are trying to avoid the grinding sound of an anchor in an impoundment ......... Weight is king - but it needs to hold ( chain gives the lay while the anchor bites)

The lower the amount of metal ..... the less sound 20lb of flat lead would be cool ...... as long as you dont need to pull it up - gettimg it over the gunnels sux ..... bang, crash, clang

I'm sticking to a 5kg sand anchor , 5M of 10mm chain ......... but laying back on up to 50M of rope
