    1770 in September???

    Hi Guys

Thinking of heading up to 1770 in September. Any thoughts on what is likely to be around?

Is it true the little blacks make a show around this time of year too?

Having never been fishing out of 1770 before, I would really appreciate your assistance.

    Kind regards

    Matt

we did a trip up there 2 years ago about mid September and only stayed for 3 days the one day we went to the wrecks and got trevally in the AVO as the wind was up in the morning.
we did manage to get out one morning we went to the bait grounds 2km from land and in a short time got 2 small blacks and dropped 2 more on a floated yakka with a leader small ball sinker to get it down to the bait level and a single 7/0 VMC through its snout
we could see the bait thick with holes in it and arches all around it
the water was not clean and we got Longtails and macs with them
Here is a photo to show how close we were

we are doing a trip to Bowen in 2 weeks for 10 days and more than likely will stop at 1770 on the way back to overnight and wet a line there, weather permitting

yes it is true. The charter we go with said september is the month for blacks. Can get up to 1.8 m long. We got a double hook up in June. Very exciting.
