What can I expect in Brissy estuaries ?

Hi All ....... With a future move to Brisbane , I'm just after a little info on what can I expect from the southern Qld estuaries ? ...... My preference is lurecasting Hards & softs

theres a multitude of fish species to target in the brisbane river on lures
but you'll be swapping picturesque creeks for dirty wharfs and cargo ships
then again the pumicestone passage has its fair share of fish once cracked, up the creeks seems to be the go...usual species include bream, flathead, mangrove jack, cod, the odd school jew, the odd grunter.

Yep plenty of bream, flathead, cod, Jew, Trev's, grunter and Jack. Squire and threddy's in the Bris R on top of the above..
You will also run into the odd catfish, stingray and pike eel watch these fella's if your ever live baiting, they are kinda like a very solid hair tail with way to much smarts out of the water and chompers that would put a Jack to shame

you can expect just about anything up in brissie mate, there is plenty of thready's in the river to test out your gear and stuff. If you ever need a decky i am here haha. best of luck to ya mate.

So thats your secret bait for the jacks keithy. Do you use timber or steel beams? What length works well? What sort of retrieve are you using?
It would be nice and cheap for me im sure ill be able to pick up a few off-cuts from work. Share ya secrets and i might be able to throw a few your way Thanks in advance for your help mate

what your leaving your toxic waste dump ? atleast if you catch fish here they are safe to eat , sort off . hope to meet up for a fish when you get here .

If your on the north side don't forget about Nundah creek/cabbage tree creek... a good place to hide away when the wind pics up with rocky bars, mangroves, pontoons and moored boats, pulled a 28cm bream out of a school of 15 I was sight casting to (need to get lighter leader than 6lb ) and a few whiting on plastics today in an hour (was fishing fly the rest of the time but could only get bumps from whiting that didn't hook up at that stage).

Oh and the Bay is great too
