I dont think it matters what knot you use, as long as you have faith in it. I have a good mate who refuses to use leaders at all, he just ties a 4" loop in the end of his 20lb braid and somehow stays connected to more fish than I like to admitt
If you ask me its pure ar$e, but I guess it comes down to thats what he's comfortable using.

Yea mate,
up till last trip i never used heavier than 20 lb braid n mondy, and iv only lost two fish, both to a leader rubbing thrugh on a stitched up barra.my fault crappy boat driving.oh and one 90ish fish to a broken clip.my fault again.i used the clip all day saturday withoout a hit.second cast sunday bang.it didnt fail it broke from over use.still i dont think ill use em this trip.they retard the action of bombers too much in saying that my biggest is a mere pup at 105 in the fresh.and the amount of k mart specials tied straight on 25 lb line that land fish is amazing. whatever rocks your boat. I only use 20 lb leader on my flyrod up at mackay for barra and dont lose too many.though i tie those flies on a worm hook thing so they are hinge hooked..

A weather site I use, and find it amazingly accurate is www.accuweather.com
Its a yankky site, but click on worldwide forecast and type in bundaberg queensland. It give 15 day forecasts. The bit I like is the graph showing predicted Hi and Low temps for 15 days......guess what....it is steadly climbing from this weekend onwards to the big one!!! Predicting good forecast for the muster....ye ha.

Slim beauty rocks.....never tying another bimini or improved albright again!!!
Easy to learn....easy and quick to tie....no more banging runners!!

Steve ....... Doesn't a slim beauty involve tying a overhand (granny) ....... Which then clangs through the guides .............. I'm not to sure if I would be using it when you are casting long with say slick rigs
