    Catching Snapper on Sand Banks

    Has anyone had experience at catching good snapper on the sand where there is no real structure. ???

    i guees you might get the occasional snap decide to raom accross some sand bank but havent herd of them hanging around them.

    Yes, but there will be something nearby even 100metres away. Either structure or bait.

    caught 8 kilo over sand in 3 metres of water just after letting 5,5 kilo back over the side with bait

    There are many areas of the Bay that have no structure but hold good Snapper. Often they are shell or gravel beds with a little weed growth. Good sounders will show this ground. Most of the ones I fish are also near stucture. Snapper will also follow the bait over open ground

    But if they are hearding bait, at what time of the year and what moon are they likely to be there ha ha
