Unknown Fish

Got a message fom my daughter saying the grandkids caught this fish near Cloncurry NQ. It has to be a perch of some type but the exact name escapes me. Can anyone out there assist please.

G'Day Gary,

First glance it looked like an EP, openning the pic I concur on the glassy. Got some of its smaller cousins in one of the tanks at home.

Did they way that was caught in Chinaman Creek Dam or the river??

Have to agree on the Giant Glassfish. I have caught several on fly years ago below the lake Julius spillway. I didn't know what they where at the time so took a photo and got the DPI to id them for me when I went across to a fish stocking conference.
