70cm Fingermark and a 45cm grunter, Taken on 12lb mine, 25lb leader with a
whiting hook

there are loads of them on an oil rig we go to in PNG.... black bass mixed in there too.
just drop a jig and wait for the bust up on 24kg. its about 20NM offshore in saltwater which i have not heard of for bass before.

they both pull hard when they only have 1m to go before they reach the barnacle encrusted oil platform legs. but i think the bass are harder.
the photos were taken on an underwater digital camera.

mate u gotta start somewhere, now that u have got 1 it should b easy from now on. big live squid r the best, have a look at 1 on your palm u will notice a flat side & a fat side put the hook just under the skin on the fat side, if u go 2 deep & hit that hard part in the middle he will die (thats no good live is the way 2 go). live green back herring is my 2nd bait after squid, if u got a boat & want some info about a squid light let me know.
